Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj is participating in the international conference on resolving conflicts peacefully “Balkan experiences, lessons for Ukraine”, which is being held in Zagreb, Croatia.
In his address to those attending, Hoxhaj said Ukraine should learn from Balkan experiences, since there have been different models and solutions. However, Ukraine needs to administer these lessons in finding special solutions, since situations are different and matchless.
“We are proud of our state-building process. We are an example in the integration of the Serb community at the central and local level, giving them rights that are not compared to any minority community in Europe”, Hoxhaj has said, Telegrafi reports.
The deputy prime minister has stopped at recognising Kosovo's independence on the part of Ukraine, which has not yet happened.
“Peace and dialogue in Ukraine are also important for Balkan peace. Kosovo has been brought with strategic clarity, condemning events in March 2014 and imposing sanctions against Russia, joining Western allies. Despite that, Ukraine has so far not recognised Kosovo, but has been hiding reluctant to take a stand. The recognition of Kosovo by Ukraine is in the interest of both countries”, Hoxhaj has declared in Croatia.
Hoxhaj also spoke of the Kosovo dialogue, Serbia, saying that for Kosovo there is a goal from this dialogue, and that goal is mutual recognition.
