Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has said he is not satisfied with the state of the environment in the country, though they have taken action.
He has made that statement at the Supreme Conference on Sustainable Development, part of which is the chief of the EU office in Kosovo, Natalia Apostolova.
According to Haradinaj, it is the last time the importance of the environment for life must be understood.
And I hope that Albena Resiti will help me along with the EU, KFOR, KSK and police, in the autumn of doing a general cleanup anywhere from the waste that has been dumped in these 20 years and these are Kosovo's shame, I'm willing to do it in the spring, but in late autumn from September until December when the strategy falls down, we have to move those waste”, Haradinaj said.
Natalia Apostolova expressing the continuation of EU support for Kosovo in order to improve the environment conveyed three messages, Kosovo passes.
At this conference she also said Kosovo should change its perception in terms of environmental protection.
” The EU is the biggest investor in Kosovo. More than 15m euros in taxpayers' money have been invested in the last 10 years in the environment. This is one of the greatest concerns that the energy policy in Kosovo should be placed in a broader context and concrete plan”, she said.
Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Albena Resiti said they aim to improve the situation in the environment in empowering spatial planning, boosting the approach of affordable residential, empowering the Inspectorate.
She then added how the minister has put himself on a mission to clear and greenen the country, and for that she urged growth of the budget.
