Facebook has helped me meet thousands of members of I SIS through “suggested friends” [q. begrued friends], reports Independent, present Periscopi.

This platform has been accused of supporting extremists and allowing them to expand their network.

Facebook's algorithms suggest that users connect if they share common interests.

Researchers, who analyzed the activity of the 1000 ISIS supporters from 96 countries in the world, found that they often met each other precisely through such a Facebook-enabled option.

Robert Postings, one of the researchers, said that after clicking on the news pages of non-extremists, he had received many suggestions for friends from extremists.

“Facebook, with its desire to connect as many people as possible, have unwittingly created a system that helps connect extremists and terrorists,” he told The Telegraph, the Periscope broadcast.
