According to church leaders, priests are being attacked blindly, and their homes are being destroyed.
Tensions have increased this year in the ancient Christian Armenian city, which is about a square mile [1 sq km] wide, including the church of the sacred tomb, the sacred place where Jesus was believed to have been crucified and later resurrected, reports The Guardian<18x1>, the Periscope broadcast.
The old city is also home to other religions such as Muslims and Jews.
Church leaders are saying they are facing three fronts: a war of fear carried out by the hard line of Jewish settlers, unprecedented demands by the Council of Jerusalem and a proposal to allow church expropriation to be declared as sold./Periscopi/
