Soon construction of the tunnel will begin between Pec and Rozhaje, but border taxes will also be lifted between Montenegro and Kosovo.
So said after meeting between Montenegro's Minister of Transport and Marine Affairs Osman Nurkovic and Infrastructure Minister Pal Lekaj, who have also discussed a traffic agreement, construction of a new road course, as well as railway between Pec and Rozhaje.
Nrkovac, after the meeting, said they have talked about many projects that need to be realised in the future.
The most important project that I hope we will start very quickly and there is one of the biggest projects, is the construction of the tunnel between Pec and Rozhaje. We've been talking about this project for a year and a half and we've managed to get our governments back to the level of two prime ministers. Our second conversation was about the second link between Pec and Roshaje, the construction of a new road course, and we talked about the railway link between Peja and Roshaje”, he said.
He added that they have carried out the idea plan for their part, which would hand over to the Government of Kosovo, until he said they have also discussed the issue of removing the border tax between Kosovo and Montenegro.
We've identified this as a barrier that is hindering business, and I believe we'll soon remove this barrier... this will freeze the flow of passengers and establish relations between two countries. We have also talked about signing the traffic agreement, collaborators of my cabinet and Prime Minister Lekaj's associates will co-operate and hopefully sign this agreement during July”, he said.
And the Minister of Infrastructure, Pal Lekaj, said this visit is a good example of co-operation
We talked about three issues of importance that would affect the binding of the corridors, and the air, spatial connection, and what we agreed on, even Mr. Minister, so we could develop the road infrastructure, railway infrastructure, and what we agreed on to secure the border tax. And we think that what's mentioned in the middle of the Peja and Roshaia tunnel is now developing feasibility in very high intensity, and that's not just going to be a word, but it's going to be implemented exactly”, Lekay said.
Otherwise, Minister Nrkovic, who during the eightties has completed studies at the Kosovo Faculty of Economy, said excellent political relations between the two countries will advance even more
