The blame for EU membership, mentions organised crime and corruption

She has said that the peace and stability of the Western Balkans are the reasons why enlargement is vital for all of Europe.

Fajon believes France has a tough stance on enlargement and that what it has to do with this country is the issue of security and false asylum seekers, who still come mainly from Albania and Kosovo.

“Finance, however, is not the only place. Other countries have great interests. I still hope France will be declared even over the issue of Albania”, Fajon says.

She says she is optimistic and hopes that in June EU member states will approve opening negotiations on the accession of Macedonia and Albania, where, according to her words, it would be a positive step for the entire enlargement process, news broadcasts.net.

There are still several Western Balkan countries that have problems of corruption and organised crime, democracy and freedom of the press. All of these are issues the region needs to improve and we will help in business. At the same time and in the EU, we need to talk about positive aspects of enlargement and why we need each other”, Fajon says.

She says she is positive that the Western Balkans after a long time again have the focus of the EU.

Fajon told Tanjug that the Sofia summit delivered a message “perhaps not very ambitious” but a clear “” of the European perspective of the Western Balkans.

She adds that it is difficult to talk about dates, but also notes that “where there is political will, there is a shorter” process.
