Albanian Interior Minister's Brother Surrenders to Italian Authorities

Agron Xhafaj, brother of Albania's interior minister, is taught that he is heading towards Italy to use himself to the Italian authorities.

Xhafaj this morning was self-designed at Rome's Fiumion Airport, where it is taught by confirmed sources that it was sent to a prison in Rome.

Xhafaj himself has posted a letter to public opinion, expressing the reasons for his action.

Directing Public Opinion

I'm Agron Xhafaj.

Because of all the accusations that have been brought against me in the last few days, but also as Fatmir Xhafaj's brother, today Interior Minister, I feel obliged to make public the following:

I have decided to address the Italian authorities of justice myself to execute a criminal sentence on me.

I've decided to do this by appearing today in Italy to the relevant authorities.

Even though there has never been (there's not yet) any demands and no interest in Italian law enforcement agencies to investigate this decision, even though I've never been looking for the execution of this decision, I'm doing it.

I made a mistake in my youth. Like not a few others. Not at all, and for no reason do I justify or justify that mistake. Even though anyone who has had the opportunity to see that criminal record and has seen the circumstances of committing that criminal act, he well understands the degree of my involvement and role in that story.

There's also one V THROUGHOUT the fact that I want to make it public against the slander that has been repeatedly made about this matter.

I'm not just saying I'm not. I AM in this case, but instead, I have made every possible effort to be present in Italy during the investigation and then during my trial. They are complete and documented all my efforts in this regard.

It was the Italian authorities who released me after a month of ban and ordered my departure from Italy. For about a decade, I've made several demands to obtain visas just to follow my issue to Italian justice. In all cases this request has been rejected.

Today, I am 43 years old, and from 2002 until today I DUCH THERE is no behavior, or deed, that has been contrary to law and morality. I have made all the effort and am proud that I have been able to live as normal as all the honest citizens of this country for a long time. My energy and attention have long been completely devoted to my family.

I owe many to my wife who has helped and supported that both our children, our son and daughter, although still young, look to us two devoted parents, are honestly cared for in the best way possible for them.

For their sakes, because of love for them, because of my desire to be with them, and to rejoice with them daily and for them, (I believe that for every parent), I have been carrying this burden for many years. Although I knew very well that I had to pay for what I had done in my youth. Despite what justice requires me to repay, it's much more than the mistake I've committed.

Today, as a result of this political and public pressure on my family, in the inability to offer children a peaceful life without the daily stress of slander and blackmail, but also in my belief that this is the right decision, I take the courage to take this important step myself and to face legal issues with the execution of the decision.

At the same time, near the Prosecutor, I have declared and stated that the published audio, including the sound effects as well as the fabricated images, are false, and have been made public in the media with the intention of blackmailing and pressure on me and my brother, the minister of the interior. Yesterday, 15th. May 2018, I have carried out all necessary procedures, envisioned by law, including the depositing of my voice to the Tirana Prosecution and in the presence of the field expert, thus providing all possible co-operation in the function of dawning the truth. I hope that the prosecution and the court go to the end of the criminal and civil investigation into the unscrupulous arrangement against me and my family.
