Pristina and the capital of IOWA De Moines will soon formalise twinning.

So said Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti, after a meeting he had with a delegation from the capital of the IOWA, who were members of the city twin-tlay commission.

Ahmeti, on that occasion, thanked the state of IOWA for helping Kosovo in many areas, while happily expressing twins with the capital of IOWA, which will soon take place.

We'll exchange experiences. I am very happy today that we will soon formalize twinning with the capital of IOWA. These twins usually go to cities with municipalities that are similar in size. They also have similar traits, traits. One thing our consul constantly has in store for us is that if there is one thing in common between Kosovo and IOWA, it is hospitality, that these two countries have”, he said.

While Darlen Blake from the IOWA said the relationship between the two capitals could be beneficial.

“We are here, as your chairman said, to consider the possibility of expanding relations, which have been increased and developed by programs of our sister states throughout these years. And so it seems natural that this is an expansion among our capitals. And that's the process we're seeing right now. We feel that the relationship between our cities can be mutually beneficial. We have a lot of knowledge and expertise and we're more than willing to share it with you and I think you'll find this in the people of Iowa. We are very much like the people of Kosovo, we want to give, we want friendship, we welcome people and so we have a lot to share. But also, I want you to know that you have a lot to give us, you have the coolness of thought, innovative thinking, determination to build a place from scratch and make it wonderful as it is actually within such a short period of time, is really amazing”, she said./S.
