The Vetevendosje movement held media conference in order to address issues of mismanagement and misuse in the energy sector. So said in the VV communiqué, where MP Arberie Nagavci spoke at the conference, and said that over the past months citizens throughout Kosovo's municipalities were faced with severe power reductions.
Even though citizens have not only paid the current, they have paid more than actually cost the services received, KEDS has continued in the same ava as unreasonable reduction”, she said.
According to her, electricity import for 2017 has cost about 68m euros. From 2011 to last year over 300m euros have been spent on energy imports, but the situation in this sector has not improved at all.
“Taking into account and raising the price of electricity, and the recent change of winter tariffs -- summer -- on the fee that is closer to winter season this bill on Kosovo's entire expenditures and its citizens becomes too big. This situation confirms once again the full irresponsability of KEDS as contract violator with Kosovo citizens, on account of each citizen paying the” stream, he said further.
VV says that for more and worse, citizens not only face lack of energy, but they are obliged to pay and technical and commercial losses, or, more directly, citizens are obliged to pay for the theft of electricity by companies and informal economies and irresponsible citizens. It confirmed that part of that energy (for the four municipalities in the country's north) the ombudsman's report and then the Court ruling.
Even though the KEDS was fully arbitraryly privatised, it was said that, in addition to others, it is being done to ensure endless electricity supply and that technical losses and even commercial losses would be reduced, not only that it didn't happen, but the vice versa continued reductions and the price increased. Last year, Prime Minister Haradinaj made a decision to compensate for all construction in the protected economic zone in Shiptilla. This decision was made in total disregard for constitutionality and law in force”, Naganvci said.
Everyone is aware that abusive construction has been done in Shiptulla, knowing correctly that one day it would be expropriated to open the mine. Although there were two government decisions, in 2004, and in 2009 that stopped construction in the area, the Kastriot governments and municipality knowingly allowed mass construction”, she said.
Another said the same KEK management boards, which not only did not address the level needed, but many of them are part of this megaafer in this area of particular importance.
<x0) And that there have been threats against them and KEK employees for which no measures have been taken today. The usurping construction has continued in this illegal part, the KEK board has not reacted at all, the Kastriot Community, which is led by the AAK, and was even won by this clientistic relationship, as well as by the Ministry of Environment or Economic Development, and have no reaction at all”, she said.
VV says Prime Minister Haradinaj has the obligation to announce:
- Do you know and respect the decisions of 2004 and 2009, as well as that of the Mustafa Government for expropriation, or will it compensate for houses built after 2009 that would freeze corruption-based doubts?
- Constructions from which year will compensate?
- How far has the full value of expropriation reached?
- When will the full list of compensaters and their title be published?
- When will he make a full list of those who are being passed on money into bank accounts even though they have no title?
- And more importantly, when will the new mine study end, and when will it begin from construction?
- When is the thermocentral plant “Kosovo B” planned?
“We find ourselves in the same danger as a year ago, when the same Vetevendosje Movement referred to field experts warned of the crisis awaiting the power generation sector”, the communiqué reportedly said.
