Serbian media continue to deal with last Monday's events in Mitrovica, when Kosovo Police Special Unit Marko Djuric was arrested.
Commenting on these developments, the newspaper <x0 selectika” reveals that the demand for sending the Serbian Army to Kosovo had made northern Mitrovica Mayor Goran Rakic, the Koha.net broadcast.
As this newspaper writes, Rakiq had invited Serbia's president Aleksandar Vuciq to send the army to Kosovo.
“We will self-organize, but help us, we expect your support and protection”, the “polica” quoted Rakic as saying.
Belgrade had not sent the army, but had held the Security Council meeting that very evening, while Vuciq addressing the nation, the arrest of Djuriqi had called “pure smuggling” supported by several countries.
Three days after the events in Mitrovica, Serbia's Army has held exercises “Sadeestvo 2018” World and Kosovo exercises were named demonstration of Belgrade's military power.
