A letter to Ljiljana Zikic Karadordevic, who was killed on April 1st 1999 by KLA '%a in the village of Lybenic, has been published in Serbian media. In a portrait for him, Belgrade's newspaper “Blic” writes that Ljiljana was the winner of the crown Miss Yugoslavia, maneke, poet and that at the time he was killed in the “war for home”, he had left 6 children. However, the Belgrade newspaper, which writes for Serbian “heroina”, has failed to show that on that very day, Serbian paramilitary units had committed one of the largest massacres, killing 80 Albanian civilians.
“will protect Serbia and die” Mrs. Yugoslavia, former partner of the Serbian prince and mother of six children who gave their life for Kosovo”, has thus titled the newspaper “Blic” of Belgrade for a protagonist of Serbian public life, who was killed in Kosovo's Lybenic during the time of the shelling of the Serb forces in Kosovo, and when Serb forces were committing crimes against civilians.
It was Miss Yugoslavia, maneke, a character of advertising, movies, poets and six children. But, in 1999, she decided voluntarily to join the army of Serizawa and go to Kosovo. Before he wore his uniform, he had written a poem, but it didn't take long, when, as a member of the 125K Brigade Motorged Unit, he had dropped “in ambush for Albanian terrorists, where he was also killed at 42 years of age, along with two other soldiers” wrote Belgrade's Bliccom.
Ljiljana Zikic Karadordevic, born in Kragujevac on 9 March 1957. She had attended a ballet school and had also played in theatres, while in Belgrade she had graduated as an engineer of organizational science.
When she had accomplished enough in her life, she left it all and went to fight for her homeland. It was April 1, when near the village of Lübenic near Pec, he lost his life. Because of her bravery and sacrifice, she has been honoured with first degree medals given by the field of defence and security. Her 6 children, now without a mother, all live abroad except the youngest girl Dina Galorini, who has remained in Serbia and who has been only nine years old when this tragedy” writes further this newspaper.
It is said that it was part of a brigade but also as a volunteer. As Serbian paramilitary units are known on April 1st 1999 in Lübeniq, Pec, in the early morning hours under the direction of the “Chekeyt” group, had been surrounded and then entered into the village.
Once they had gathered the people in the center of the village, they had separated the men from the women and then executed them in the gentile ways. Over 80 people had been executed there. Among those slaughtered were young men, women, and children.
There three minors have also been executed -- Muhamet Ukshiaj (18 months), Leonard Alimaj (7 year) and Fatmir Alimeha (17 years old who was physically ill -- all three are still missing.
Also, the pregnant woman Shyhrete Ukhshinaj was murdered and slaughtered there as well.
Lubenik's massacre is considered one of the most secular massacres of Serb invaders in Kosovo.
