Saudi Arabia's King Salman has promised many reforms for women, but there are still important decisions that a woman in Saudi Arabia still cannot make.
These include the ability to marry, travel, or seek medical treatment.
These are eight things one female cannot do in Saudi Arabia:
Marriage
Permission to marry should be granted by the parent or guardian. Women seeking to marry foreigners must get approval from the Interior Ministry, and marrying non-Muslims is as difficult as impossible.
Open a Bank Account
They are not allowed to have their bank account to control their finances and their home without the permission of men who must be signed by them.
Travels
The passports and IDs should be taken with the permission of a male guardian. Women are not usually allowed to leave home alone.
Dressed as They Love
Make-up is illegal, and modern clothing constitutes execution.
Long, light - colored clothes that are not too prominent, have no special cuts but are the same as other clothes. There is no space to explore in the setting and color of the headscarf.
Men's Appointments
The conversations and time spent with men who are not family members are limited. In public, restaurants, universities and other spaces have as a “family section” and a section reserved for men.
Medical Treatment
Even lifesaving operations and procedures require signing by a male relative.
Child Care
In divorce cases women are allowed only to care for their children until they reach the age of seven and nine.
