The Student Organisation “Summ, Critics, Action” last night has celebrated the eighth anniversary of its founding with a party at City Park in Pristina. But not everything went as planned. Their holiday was interrupted twice by Kosovo police. The second time the police action ended in clashes with activists, six of whom [...]

In honour of the eighth anniversary of the establishment, the Student Organisation “Studim, Critics, Action”, founded by student activists of the Vetevendosje Movement, organised a party at City Park in Pristina, starting at 8:00.

This party, accompanied by music from a band that would broadcast a documentary, was interrupted by Kosovo Police.

In a confession to Periscope, student Flamur Piraeus reports that police officials had gone to Park, where the party was being held, about 9:00.

Police reasoning were complaints about the noise coming from the organization.

Police were informed of the permit the Organisation had addressed to the Pristina municipality for these activities.

But the students' application for the municipality led by Shpend Ahmeti was ignored.

The Pristina municipality had not considered their request at all. He didn't approve of them, he didn't refuse them, I follow Periscope.

On this issue, Periscopi has contacted several dozen Pristina municipality officials who have not even received the opportunity to respond.

Pristina municipality spokesman Adonis Tahiri has been contacted dozens of times by Periscopi. But he didn't answer.

After constant calls, he has requested that the message be delivered.

Through the message, Tahiri has been asked to tell us whether the Pristina municipality has accepted the request for activity by the SKV, and if that request has not been answered.

He hasn't even responded to some Periscop messages.

For the same matter, Periscop has contacted the Information Office in this municipality, but never has the only phone been opened by them.

And we are told by the Public Services Directorate in the Pristina municipality that we have to contact officials on matters who were incompatible all day.

Piraeus has told Periscope that with the organisation of their activity in City Park, there was no invasion of public space.

This activity was one of several activities made up of different groups and organisations in City Park”, he says.

He tells how it got to the police fight with the students.

After trying to arrest one of the organisers, students and activists have come to his defense, understanding again with the police to give us time to take all the equipment and disperse. In just a few minutes, other police patrols have arrived in the City Park, dashing students with rubber sticks and spray”, he tells of Periscope.

At a news conference held today by the activists of this organisation, nine more were sent to Emergency, while dozens of others were injured by the spray police have thrown at them.

But the police provide a different version.

In a response to Periscope, information officials from the Pristina region have indicated that eight police officials have remained injured during last night's action.

Shkelzen Xhafa, the major in Kosovo Police in a statement to the media, said students other than alcohol had also been drinking narcotic substances last night.

“Around 23 p.m. exactly at 22:47, police have been called by several citizens, for some who have played loud music, are using alcoholic beverages and are consuming narcotics... because of this resistance of all participants have hurt eight police officials who have sought help at the University Clinical Centre in Pristina, and three of them have suffered serious health injuries”, he said.

That's exactly what students opposed.

Student Flamur Piraeus says none of the students have been involved in illegal activities while calling for the release of activists from the arrest.

He even believes that yesterday's police action was well orchestrated, although it doesn't tell from who.

The police's “attempt to find continued excuses for interventions with students tells of a well-organised planning to intervene violently against us”, he says an answer to Periscope.

Yesterday's organisation of the SKVA, ignoring the request for permission, and police action still remains unclear.

It is unknown why the Pristina municipality has not returned answers to the student's request.

“Student Movement “Study-Critics-activism” (SKV), tomorrow with the 1204.2018 (October), has the 8th anniversary of the organisation, so we request permission to organise some activities in City Park. The activities begin in the evening, in this case a documentary will be shown and there will be music with guitar”, says the SKVA request to the Pristina municipality, which Piraeus has sent to Periscope.

Whether the strain of reports between the current government of Shpend Ahmeti and Vetevendosje Movement is known is not to address that permit.

Pristina's current chairman, Shpend Ahmeti, has resigned from the Vetevendosje Movement on 7 March this year.

Vetevendosje Chairman Albin Kurti was left well behind at Pristina chairman Shpend Ahmeti, following his resignation.

At a rally that had held with sympathetic members of downtown Pristina, following Ahmeti's resignation, Kurti had billed all the successes in the past term in Pristina, only those who remained loyal to his party, but not even those who left Vetevendosje, including the capital's first./Periscopi
