Health Minister Uran Ismaili met with Macedonian counterpart Venko Filipche in Skopje today.
Through a media communique, it becomes known that during the meeting, the two countries were discussed advancing co-operation in the health sector between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of Macedonia and exchange of experiences for the two countries to learn from each other about strengthening this sector, Koha.net broadcast.
Ismaili, he briefed Macedonian Minister for reforms Kosovo is going through in the health sector. In this direction, he also called for strengthening co-operation with the Macedonian Health Ministry so that these reforms will be even faster.
I'm here to strengthen our co-operation at the institutional level. The health sector is at last a priority in Kosovo, and on our way to reform, we need to have as many partners as we can co-operate with and exchange our expertise and experiences to send this important sector to the level where it belongs to”, Ismaili said.
On the other hand, Filipche said this first step is important for establishing co-operation between the two countries in this area.
Furthermore, Filipche said Macedonia will have the open doors to offer its entire experience in this sector for the Kosovo side.
We want to build a better relationship than we've had together. We must support each other and improve our cooperation. This is a very good start of strengthening this co-operation, which will most benefit our citizens”, Filipche said.
During this meeting, attended by the director of the Health Insurance Fund, Fatmir Plakqiqi, USKKKKKK director Basri Sejdiu, Health Ministry Secretary Naim Bardiqi, Aferdita Barak, SSH Director of the SSH, Zenel Hissenaj, and cabinet chief Ardian Ferizi, both sides agreed on launching co-operation in exchange of various expertises, in co-operation between health insurance funds, drug control inspectors and intelligence systems.
On a one-day visit to Macedonia, Ismaili also visited some of the hospitals of the University Clinical Centre of Macedonia to see closely the conditions and way of work there.
