The former head of Kline, Ismet Raraci, was killed on April 23, 2001, two years after the war ended.
Ismet Raraci, chairman of the LDK branch simultaneously and head of the Kline municipality, founder of the LDK, was killed near his residence while he was coming to work by persons still unknown.
Ismet's son Astriti Raraci had said that elements of crime in the Kosovo Police Service were at hand in the murder of Father. He had asked EULEX to reopen the investigation. In addition, he had indicated that a bomb had been dropped at an election gathering in Kline in 2000, in the presence of police in the order, and no one had been arrested.
After Rarac's murder, Ibrahim Rugova had also spoken, then the LDK chief and Kosovo. He had said that Raraci's murder was linked to the LDK's victory in the 2000 elections when he defeated other parties.
The murder of Ismet Raraci is the worst murder for all of us, following the murder of Xhemajl Mustaf in November of last year. Once, it is a murder directed against democratic power resulting from last year's local elections. This murder is done by those who do not want the establishment of democratic order in Kosovo. It means, too, that the assassination of Rarac was committed by the time democratic municipal power began to function and at the time we are preparing for the organisation of national, presidential and parliamentary elections, which will be important to Kosovo and its people. All who commit such murderous acts are against Kosovo independence, which is the definition of the people of Kosovo”, Rugova had said.
LDK: We seek justice for Ismet Racin and other activists
The Democratic League of Kosovo has remembered today the former chairman of Kline, Ismet Raraci. In this commemoration, the LDK says they continue to seek justice for the murder of Rarac and other activists.

“Ismet Raraci was one of the founders of LDK and friend of former President Rugova. His murder was severe not only for family members but also for all citizens of Kline and Kosovo. Raraci's Ismet was always close to his citizens, despite difficult times and such circumstances, and he was sly killed because he served the citizens of Kline in an effort to make his life more dignified”, says the LDK's announcement.
The LDK says it continues to seek justice for the murder of Ismet Raracit and other LDK activists.
The race will be remembered for intellectual and civic courage in the service of citizens of the municipality of Klinna and the country. The Democratic League of Kosovo continues to seek justice for the killing of Ismet Raraci and all other activists. /Periscope.
