Kosovo Deputy Speaker, Kosovo MP PDK, Xhavit Haliti, said imported meat in Kosovo does not meet any standards.
According to him, imported meat may be of state reserves, or of military that does not meet the consumer criteria.
I'd like to tell you that there's meat, there's pounds of meat that is produced in America and Japan, which is called cobras that such meat costs at least 540 euros. Our power, our ability, is not to export this kind of meat, but even if it's good to control it. The problem is, all of Europe imports meat from the US, Argentina and Ireland, mainly the three states that have the best meat that Europeans use. But believe this meat is designed by custom for the individual states where it will be used and individual EU states have first standard of raising cattle and then controlling milk and meat with their standards and then putting it on the market. The meat that has come to Kosovo is not Europe's meat. It's meat, I'm thinking, of the reserves of any state, military, where I know, that it doesn't meet the standards for any country in the world to eat”, Haliti said.
MP Haliti said they are talking about meat, but equally dangerous are the vegetables citizens eat, as they are full of pesticides and are harmful to the health of citizens after the deadline expired.
