Gmail is one of the best electronic posts in spam and malicious messages, but a number of users reported today that “Their Inbox” is filled with ads sent by their own accounts, Mashable reported.
Numerous users complained at Google forums reporting that messages were sent from their accounts, despite being secured with double-term verification.
The hackers had built e-mails that looked like they were sent by users themselves using the Canadian telecommunications company called Telus to bypass spam filters.
Since messages seemed to have come from the user himself, Gmail put them in the delivery file.
A company spokesman said they were dealing with a spam campaign that has affected a small number of users.
Tellus said the messages were not from her servers.
