UN data says that in 1800 the world's population had become a billion. In 1927 it was 2 billion. In 1987 it was 5 billion, and today it is some 7.5 billion.
Every minute that passes, 250 babies in the world are born over 130 million a year, reports Guardian.
Most national governments make their population projections. Since 1960, there have been more boys than girls born. Some 117 million women are believed to be “continued” in Asia and Eastern Europe as a result of gender-based discrimination preferences for boys and selection.
Where is the population growing faster and slower?
Generally speaking, the fastest population growth has been recorded in Africa and Asia. By 2050 there are expected to be more Nigerians than Americans. By 2100, projections say that more than a third of people nearly 4 billion people will be Africans.

Another indicator is that people now live much longer. Then, the number of babies born before they reach the age of five is much smaller than before. /Periscopi
