Avicci's family have confirmed that he committed suicide. His real name was Tim Berling. He was found dead in Oman, April 20th of this year, writes OK magazines.
A letter issued by the family in Swedish says:
Our loving “Tim was a researcher, an artistic spirit that sought answers to existential questions. When he stopped the tournament, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most music. He really struggled with thoughts of meaning, life, happiness. He couldn't go on. He wanted to find peace. Tim was not meant for the business car that found himself; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but avoided attention. Tim, you'll be forever loving and unfortunately lost. The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive. We love you”
In their statement issued Monday, the family has thanked all Avicci supporters, now late.
We want to thank you for your support and loving words about our son and brother. We are so grateful for all who love Tim's music and have fond memories of his songs. Thank you for all the initiatives taken to honor Tim, with public gatherings, church bells singing his music, homazhe in Coachela, and moments of silence worldwide. We are grateful for our privacy during this difficult time. Our wish is for it to continue this way”.
