KA LLXO.com has understood Ugur Toxoy's asylum demand submitted on November 3, 2017, has been recognised on March 28, 2018.
The news of the refugee status recognition of Toxoy has confirmed attorney Leutrim Syla.
In his application submitted on November 3rd, Toxoy had stated that in his country of origin he was the object of political persecution, and in case of return there he would face serious injuries for political reasons.
The Department of State, Asylum and Migration near the MPB has recognised this right to Toxoy given the state of origin, has estimated that asylum seekers fulfils refugee status.
Toxoy had been arrested late last October, wanted to be extradited by the Republic of Turkey under suspicion of having links to the “Feto” organisation Turkish authorities consider terrorist.
After originally being assigned 40 days' detention, Toxoy had been released on bail of 5 thousand euros.
On December 14th of last year, sessions for extradition were held where Kosovo Special Prosecutor Ali Rexha had withdrawn from the extradition request after he said he had sought evidence from Turkey and they have not come.
In contrast to Toxoy, the different fate was shared by six of his countrymen who were expelled from the Republic of Kosovo on March 29th, while in an interview by Toxoy for a TV in Kosovo, he said he had announced that police had gone to his home as well, but had not found it there.
6 Turkish citizens who had valid permission to stay in Kosovo were expelled with the reasoning that they could pose a risk to national security, while the Ministry of Internal Affairs mentioned this base in announcing the revocation of residence permit.
KA LLXO.com also wrote to the Ministry of Internal Affairs about the Ugur Tokyo case and is awaiting responses.
