According to the World Bank report, Kosovo could face unemployment during 2018.
Despite the increase of up to 600,000 employees between 2016 and 2017, the number of job applications has not diminished, reports KTV.
Job - force participation increased by 3.8 percent, and employment increased by 1.7 percent, although unemployment rates also increased by 3.3 percent, reaching 30.4 percent. Employment did not grow enough to compensate for expanding the workforce.
According to these data, dilemmas arise whether new jobs are opened or because of pressure, private businesses have only declared existing workers.
Local market researchers say the reason lies in recording a measure of workers working undeclared.
In Kosovo's Economic Age, some of the employees are also from the public sector, which has been done during these years of political crisis. Which, according to Safet Gerjaliu, will only secure the state budget.
The World Bank has seen an average economic growth of 4.8 percent for the 1920s-2020s, but estimates that significant risks exist from political dynamics and incomplete execution of the investment programme.
