Deputy Prime Minister Hoxhaj after the meeting said the report contains positive findings for the works that have been carried out, as well as provides clear insights for areas in which we need to focus more, in order to write down progress.
Hoxhaj said the Government of Kosovo will draft action plans to address areas in which work remains to be done, which are reflected in this report as well.
We as the Government of Kosovo take this report very seriously. We will make maximum efforts to draw up an action plan in the Government of Kosovo, so that we can apply all the requirements and finds that this report has issued”, he said.
Hoxhaj spoke of the expectations of Kosovo citizens from the EU, where special emphasis was placed on visa liberalisation.
The main expectations Kosovo citizens have is the visa liberalisation process, and the language that has been used in connection with this process, in the report, is promising language. There is a positive assessment, while we are left to do domestic work and we are left to lobbi to member states and institutions in Brussels, in order to turn this expectations of citizens into reality during 2018<18x1>, Hoxhaj said.
On the other hand, EU office chief Nataliya Apostolova said the report reconfirms the European Commission's commitment to the European perspective of the Western Balkans, particularly for Kosovo.
The report reflects Kosovo's achievements in this period. There is much work left to do, but progress in various fields should not be overlooked. We agreed with Deputy Prime Minister Hoxhaj, together to come up with an action plan to address their priorities and way of implementing”, Apostolova declared after the meeting.
