Parliament Speaker Kadri Veseli has sought legal responsibility against those involved in the expulsion of six Turkish citizens from Kosovo, sought by President Erdogan, after being considered terrorist in Turkey only because they are supporters of Fetullah Gulen
The modern-day arrest of six Turkish citizens, residents with valid permission remaining in Kosovo, and employees at the Mehmet Akif College accredited according to Kosovo's respective standards does not represent the proper form of law enforcement nor the necessary consolidation of democracy. The company of such actions without respect for relevant procedures and lack of transparency leaves considerable space for the authorities' arbitrary actions in question”, Veselin wrote on Facebook.
“As a democratic state, Kosovo has institutionally to address the legal responsibility of involved acts in this case. Likewise, the arrest of foreign nationals in French for groundless doubts does not correspond to the European values Kosovo should represent. Kosovo has no alternative other than European roads. This, of course, requires the rule of law and accountability by its arbitrary abusers”, the chief speaker says.
Even LDK deputies have rejected their arrest.
