At a conference discussing the security issue in Serbia and fighting crime, Serbia's deputy prime minister, Nebojsa Stefanovic, has said no one should support Kosovo in terms of becoming the military.
Stefanovic has considered it pressure on Serbia, and has said talks with Mitchel will not be easy, reports B92, broadcast Periscopi.
Our “positions are obviously different, and it is clear that the US has not changed politics. President Vuciq will ask Mitchel for a stance regarding the formation of the Kosovo Army, based on international acts and a UN resolution. These talks will be extremely complicated, but I believe President Vucqi will continue to fight for the interests of our nation and our state”, Stefanovic has said, Periscopi reports.
US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wes Mitchell will visit Kosovo today.
Mitchel during his visit to Kosovo has met with Kosovo leaders, including President Hashim Thaci and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, as well as with other political representatives and civil society.
“It will reaffirm the close ties between Kosovo and the United States and encourage the Kosovo government to make progress in dialogue with Serbia, in strengthening the rule of law, in establishing economic growth, and to overcome regional challenges in behalf of stability and Western integration”, the American Embassy's announcement in Pristina said.
