Gonge Bojaxhiu, widely known as Mother Teresa or St. Teresa of Calcutta, is the Albanian Nobelist who dedicated most of her life to charity.
She was born in Skopje (now Republic of Macedonia), then part of the Vilajet of Kosovo in the Ottoman Empire. After living in Macedonia for eighteen years, she moved to Ireland and later to India, where she lived most of her life. Mother Teresa founded the Missionarys of Charity, a Catholic religious congregation that in 2012 had more than 4,500 sisters and was active in 133 lands.
KultPlus today brings you a rare picture of Mother Teresa with her sister, Age Bojaxhiu. The photograph was taken in 1923, in the Prizren girls' National Consulate./ KultPlus
