These comments were made today by Minister Luka during his visit to the Gjakova municipality, where he met with the mayor, Ardian Gjini, as he also visited the Regional Water Company dealtakova.
Minister Luka said after the meeting that the main topic that has been discussed with Gjakova's chairman was the airport, adding that the MZHE and the municipality have an important role in its activism.
“We have an extremely heavy job because the MZHE should co-ordinate operations with the relevant ministries for activating the airport through the Public Partnership Inter-Private Commission”, Luka said.
According to him, Activating Gjakova Airport will become part of Pristina Airport and all legal forms are under consideration, as a secondary airport in Kosovo cannot be established.
“If we co-operate with Pristina Airport they have the interest to take over and activate Gjakova Airport, generating a considerable employ of 60-100 persons”, the head of the MZHE said, clarifying that this airport will be commercial and will not be just for one purpose.
Among the other issues discussed at the meeting were customs terminal, the Gjakova business park and the subsidy of businesses.
For his part, Gjakova Mayor Ardian Gjini said that with the Minister of Economic Development, they talked about topics related to development in Gjakova.
We talked about possible projects, about the needs we have and co-operation with the Ministry like the Gjakova municipality. We've also stopped in some issues that are vital and strategic. We've tried to coordinate for these projects, and one of them is the airport and industrial zones”, he said.
Minister Luka, accompanied by Chairman Jean, has then visited KRU Gjakova, where International Water Day was marked.
In this case, Luka said that CRU “Gjakova” is the company with the best performance in Kosovo, and this has also been witnessed by the water regulator.
He said they are making efforts for 100% of citizens to be part of key drinking water, adding that significant investments will be realised to improve these services. /Lajmi.net/
