The republican appointment, John Bolton, to the post of new national security adviser to US President Donald Trump, under the third consecutive replacement in the post since his arrival at the White House has sparked harsh reactions on Friday.
Bolton, who will replace General H.R. McMasterin, known as a powerful opponent of the European agreement with Iran for curbing the Islamic Republic nuclear programme, writes Koha Ditore today.
Moreover, he has been a powerful opponent even of Kosovo's 2008 declaration of independence, denoting diametrically opposed positions of the US administration.
“is best to continue negotiations on Kosovo's status, because this is the best way to preserve peace and stability in the region”, Bolton had said during a 2008 interview, shortly after Kosovo's declaration of independence. Unlike Washington's official stance, Bolton said, furthermore, that he does not recommend the states of the region to know Kosovo.
Kosovo's unprecedented “Case will be a problem for the states of the former Yugoslavia and Europe, I am referring to multiethnic”, he has said.
