Kosovo's A National Women's Handball has suffered deep losses from Belarus.
Sunday's match in Minsk ended with 41:18 results in the benefit of local handball players. After the first half was 21:9, the FHK reports, Kosovo conveys.
This match has been held within the seventh group of the second European preliminary phase.
Kosovo has lost all four matches and is the last in the group. Kosovo for the first time is playing in the second phase of the preliminary, following last summer's historic success when it passed its first phase.
Kosovo has originally lost to Hungary and the Netherlands and then twice from Belarus. On Wednesday in Pristina, the Belaruss gained 31:22 in a match where Kosovo had solid presentations. But Sunday's presentation of Kosovo was far from that in Pristina. There was a lot of weakness in the game, a lot of lost balls, and that was how the loss was high. Many factors have contributed to Kosovo's presentation”.
“Two important players -- Mirela Gjikokaj of Victory Aliu -- were with representative U-20 in Belgrade and have travelled all night between Friday and Saturday -- to start immediately Saturday morning from Pristina to Minsk. The mood at the representative was obvious, but also psychological pressure due to the situation about representative U-20 in Belgrade. The representative appeared with only 12 players, as some of the players were in Belgrade”, writes on the FHK's statement.
Kosovo plays the next match on 30 May when it hosts Hungary and qualifications closes on 2 June when it plays the Netherlands guest.
It's true that fatigue was present. We failed at several points, while the framework was small. Belarus fed on our mistakes and quickly counterattacked our supremacy. The girls were in charge of the situation that happened in Serbia, but we still have to work even harder and engage to find other girls in diaspora and Kosovo who want and can contribute. The girls today gave what they could to”, the selection said, Agron Shabani.
