Kosovo's National Institute of Public Health has expressed the conviction that the floods represent a state of emergency where, among other things, the quality of raw water from the resurface can be exacerbated, damage to the sewering system (black water drain), consign wells that supply rural drinking water territories and the processing and supply of drinking water.
When the situation is compounded by floods from the ground and rivers where their beds have been warped, they then swell and penetrate the residential environments. In the settlements, sewer networks are enthralled with garbage and are made of fecal matter.
“Based on water monitoring results for laboratory data for bacterological and chemical parameters result within pre-standards with water quality drinking regulations, UA 16/2012”
Due to atmospheric rainfall and snow melting, several Kosovo regions and the Pristina region are flooded, the National Public Health Institute provides these recommendations:
1. Securing hygienic water for drink will be offered from the tankers of municipal water companies until the normalisation of the situation in all flooded villages.
2. The supply of well - maintained water for drinking and preparing food.
3. The wells in the settlements are flooded by garbage and fecal matter, so it can't be used as one for drink and must be spent at 100 degrees Celsius at least 10 minutes.
4. Public water companies/water pipelines/enforce control and regularly disinfect water.
5. The pipeline will supply citizens with hygienic water for normal drinks to prevent the contamination and prevention of hydric epidemics.
6. Regional water pipeline teams unlock sewer nodes to prevent the flooded neighborhoods of fecal matter in all flooded settlements. The epidemiological situation is in constant control by the National Institute's caretaker teams, and any change in the situation on the ground will follow new recommendations.
