Kosovo Post chief executive chief Sej Sejdiu Hoxha, in an interview for Telegrafi, has talked about the financial situation in which Posta is located.
He has said that the government's losses and debts to the Post are also jeopardised by workers' salaries for April.
The financial situation is extremely serious, postponing the payment has brought the Post to decide on lowering salaries, as well as halting health insurance for workers. But despite these measures we have come to a serious situation that even if we go with other projects that require time for implementation we cannot solve problems unless the government's postal spending cover is carried out, Hoxha says.
He has shown that due to losses created by the universal postal service, where Posta is forced to send mail packages at a price of 40 cents, as well as the government's failure to repay debts for this public enterprise, her financial situation is burdened.
Not a cent has been subsidized for this service since 2013 until now. For this reason the government owes the Kosovo Post, over 5m euros for postal services. Just not covering the expenses for universal postal service has brought this very serious financial situation, after delay, even in paying workers' salaries”, Hoxha has indicated.
He has said that last year alone, Posta has suffered losses of 870 thousand euros.
The chief executive of the Kosovo Post, has said that about 1,000 people are employed in the company.
We have about 750 thousand euros of monthly salaries for mail workers. So far, we have provided the money for the salaries ourselves. We have never received subsidies from the Government”, he said.
Hoxha has said that when separated from Vala there have been annual losses of 3.5m euros, while having inherited about 5m euros of budget sharing.
But to get out of this situation, it shows that they have increased the number of services. “We have increased the number of services from 2 services to almost 100 new services and have cut operational and wage expenses. In 2015 we made a salary cut starting in my position for 29% for 1,000 euros a month, and other officials”, Kosovo Post Chief Executive Chief Sejd Hoxha said.
That wages in the Kosovo Post, he has estimated average until he has said that a mailman is paid about 500 euros.
Hoxha has shown that the difficult situation in Kosovo Telecom, as well as changing Vala strategies about the sale of warheads, has also affected the Kosovo Post.
We sell Vala products, in 2013 we've had about 400,000 euros in sales of Vala products, now we have about 80 thousand euros a month. There is a drastic decline in revenues because Vala has opened other points for selling other products”, said Sejdaj Hoxha chief executive chief of the Kosovo Post.
He has also talked about the distribution of social assistance to about 23 thousand people, as well as the possibility that I can perform other services for the Government of Kosovo at all points.
