Dear citizens of Kosovo,
What is happening with the quality of meat imported from Belgium to Kosovo is disturbing. The Kosovo Assembly must meet, discuss and take specific measures on the issue.
Therefore, along with MP Driton Chaushi, on behalf of the Parliamentary Group of Independent MPs tomorrow morning we will launch an initiative we will seek from the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo to organise a particular debate on the quality and safety of food in Kosovo.
Currently, Kosovo imports high amounts of food for which it is believed they do not meet the minimum criteria for quality and security, so they are out of every quality rating. In that sense, goods coming in Kosovo are believed to be produced in separate lines dedicated to our market.
In the absence of functioning domestic institutions, especially the Food and Veterinary Agency as well as Kosovo customs, our country has become the polygon of introducing goods with quality and lower food security from neighbouring countries and beyond, seriously risking public health to our citizens./Periscopi
