The Kosovo Producers Club (KPK) has reacted sharply to the risk of not controlling food products which are imported to our country. This club has called on all state authorities and institutions, such as the Kosovo Food and Veterinary Agency, to increase care for the control of food products imported to Kosovo.
According to this club, the latest case of the meat scandal imported from Belgium in Kosovo clearly shows that imported products are allowed to enter our country with questionable qualities by failing to implement and respect the required standards.
In a communique sent to media, the Producers Club has estimated that improper treatment of imported products not only endangers the welfare and life of citizens but also violates all principles of competition in the market.
“At the same time, the KKP encourages and invites all citizens to consume more products produced in our country, because Kosovar producers are more controlled and much more careful in the quality of food products. Imported products do not have the same treatment with local products, control of local products is more rigorous, and their quality is guaranteed. Local products day-to-day products are testifying to their quality, and local producers all provide citizens for the quality of their products”, said in part of this communique.
In turn, according to this club, production lines in the country meet all standards and are equipped with the latest technology, where citizens can go to visit all production companies in the country and abide by production conditions.
