The most voted MP in the June 11th parliamentary elections, Albin Kurti, has a special day. The leader of Movement “Vetevendosje” today is its birthday and is 43 years old.
Kurti's biographies show he was born on 24 March 1975 in Pristina.
In August 1997 Albin was key to the Independent Union of Students of the University of Pristina, as a member of the leadership and later as an official for international relations.
Kurti has also been a member of the Organisational Council of Peaceful and Student Protests for the release of university objects violently usurped by the Milosevic regime. He was one of the leaders of the historic student protest on October 1st 1997, which was brutally oppressed by Milosevic police.
By contrast, in 2010 he was elected deputy of the Kosovo Assembly. And in June 2011, the chairman of the Vetevendosje Movement has been elected. During the 2011-2013 legislature Albin Kurti has headed the Foreign Policy Commission in the Kosovo Assembly.
Albin Kurti, the candidate of this political party for the prime minister's post, has turned out to be the most voted MP in the June 11th parliamentary elections with 143,642 votes.
