What Thaci said about demarcation during meeting with Markovic

IF for a political unity in Kosovo to ratify the demarcation agreement with Montenegro, to pave the way for visa liberalisation”. So said Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, after today's meeting with Montenegrin Prime Minister Dusko Markovic.

According to the media communiqué, Republic of Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has hosted the prime minister of the Republic of Montenegro, Dusko Markovic, who has thanked him for Montenegro's support for Kosovo and for his visit on the eve of the 10th anniversary of independence.

President Thaci and Prime Minister Markovik have talked about bilateral relations, the current political situation in the region and the European perspective.

President Thaci has stressed that relations between the two states are excellent and has called for their expansion in the field of economy, education and culture.

The need for quick ratification of the agreement between Kosovo and Montenegro for demarcation of the border line has also been discussed at this meeting.

On the other hand, Republic of Montenegro Prime Minister Dusko Markovic has stressed that Montenegro will continue its support for Kosovo and deepen interstate co-operation even more.

We will co-operate closely to realise our common interests of EU membership”, Prime Minister Markovic said.

President Thaci has stressed that Montenegro's NATO membership will contribute to long-term peace and stability in the Balkans.
