The Kosovo government has not yet approved the budget for marking the 10th anniversary of independence. This is also jeopardizing the arrival of Rita Ora, world - renowned singer and Kosovo descent.
President Thaci's adviser, Adil Behramaj, who is part of the Organisation's Committee Council for the Independence Anniversary, has reconfirmed the willingness of singer Rita Ora to sing on February 17th in Pristina.
“Budget is just a procedure issue, which we believe will be approved next week. We've been in touch with Rita's team and family all this time, and yesterday we've been reconfirmed that Rita and her team are ready to come to Pristina for the 10th anniversary of independence, for Kosovo and our citizens. A concert of a world star like Rita, of course, has expenses, and no local company has the capacity to organise it without co-operation with other regional companies. Rita, I repeat, is coming for citizens and has demanded that the entire concert be opened, without tickets, without looking at”, he told Express.
We as the Organising Council, which we've been in the composition of all the highest institutions in the country, have done our job, while now the decision-making is in the hands of executive institutions, which have their own procedures”, Behrahaj said further.
