Munich prosecutors and police officials from the state of southern Germany of Bravaria and Baden-Wurttemberg on Tuesday have controlled several Audi cars in Igolstad, and at the automotive giant factory in Neckaratta, reports “Suddeutsche Zeitung”
The paper said 18 prosecutors and an un-reputable number of police officers have participated in the raid. Sudi, one of Volkswagen's 12 brands, has confirmed co-operation with prosecutors, reports “DW” Transmission Periscope.
The report said the raids were carried out because Audi is believed to have manipulated emissions levels in more than 200,000 vehicles for European and American markets.
Audi has been accused of cutting off software that controls gas laundering systems when the vehicle was on the move. /Periscopi/
