Deputy Chairman of the Citizen Initiative SDP) (Freedom, Democracy, Justice), Ksenija Bozovic, has confessed to KosovaPress on the 16 January event, the day the assassination of the leader of Kosovo occurred. Oliver Ivanov's SDP.
She says she called early that morning from the party secretary to go urgently to headquarters because Oliver is not well, while after arriving immediately near headquarters, the first tip was picked up by a policeman, under whom Ivanovic had had had a heart attack and was sent to the hospital.
According to her, a neighbor living near the headquarters The SDP has told him that it has seen Oliver lying on the ground near the headquarters entrance and in extremely poor condition, without knowing that it's an armed execution.
Bozovic has pressed fierce charges against police investigators, who he said since the first day have not done the job properly.
I called 911 thinking he had a heart attack, he's got to be in the Intervention Department, and at the moment I get the information that Oliver Ivanov is in the operating room and that he's been attacked with a firearm... Believe me, it's probably been 20 minutes, the place where Oliver was executed with weapons, wasn't provided by the police. People were passed, ordinary citizens who photographed the murder scene, while investigators who had to secure the scene hadn't. So I've been very disappointed because the very beginning of the investigation didn't like me, and it seems to me that it's been a violation of go-to-go”, Bozovic said.
Bozovic, has also talked about threats to Ivanovic and people on his list.
It has made it known that these threats have been particularly pronounced during the recent local elections, held late last year in Kosovo.
According to her, the threats have been largely anonymous, conveying frightening messages to individuals and their family.
Bozovic said that for all these threats and the fragile situation in the north, Ivanovic has spoken publicly and informed the institutions in Pristina, Belgrade, as well as the international community, but, as she put it, no one has seriously heard his words.
“When the election campaign -- which is likely in everything but not democratic elections -- has threatened people who have been on our lists. Citizens know we had to change our list three times. Oliver's been made a spot where his forehead has been targeted for gun shooting... since then he's been worried about all the people on his list. He spoke to them with words, giving them courage. There were threats, but he was brave... to all threats he spoke publicly. All threats and the overall security situation in the north have been announced to all institutions, both in Belgrade, Pristina and the international community. Everyone knew what the security situation in the north was. Public has talked about crime and corruption... has appealed to everyone to understand the situation seriously and to solve problems together, but everyone seems to have not heard the things he's been talking about, and everyone today is responsible... These threats have been anonymous, over the phone, mostly followed messages to citizens that they will be out of work, that they will lose their jobs, people are scared for their families, the atmosphere has just been tense”, Bozovic stressed.
Ivanovic's deputy has expressed doubts that the US Embassy in Pristina has been aware of the murder of the leader of this initiative, Oliver Ivanovic.
According to her, US Ambassador Greg Delaway two days before the assassination, has warned of the uncertain situation in the north, warning its citizens not to go to that section because of the dangerous situation there.
She spoke of the responsibility of leaders of certain institutions, said in normal states after such a level murder, there had to be penalties.
I think that in a normal world for such an act, for such a murder, because Oliver Ivanovic was not only a common citizen but a politician, and for such a murder it had to be from the police minister and to the local commander, some would resign, while some were sanctioned. We have no reaction so far. What do I mean, why is the International Community, Euex, embassies silent? We have few rights left to suspect as to the US ambassador's statement, which two days before the assassination has informed its citizens that it is not safe to go north. And two days after the murder we have a statement from the German ambassador who also alerts the citizens of this country not to visit the north because they are not safe. Who's thinking about this? We've raised questions about whether the American Embassy two days before Oliver's murder, we've begun to question whether there was anything he knew about it. So far, we have no answer to our questions. Why do you keep Eulex silent, when Oliver was supposed to be arrested he was extremely experienced... we like to follow the investigation. Today is the 20th day of the assassination, and we have no details of this”, Bozovic said.
After Ivanovic's murder, Bzovovic said the north of Mitrovica reigns in the atmosphere of suffering and silence.
According to her, citizens feel insecure, while competent security organs are not doing their job properly.
Bozovic expressed outrage at the investigative organs, which he said had not allowed him and other party associates to see the current images of the murder, recorded by security cameras that were located in headquarters.
Bozovic has ruled out the possibility of Ivanovic being killed by Albanians, until he became sceptical that the killer would ever be found.
I expect the investigative organs to do their part of the job, even though at the very start I'm skeptical that the killer will ever be found, but we had a lot of desire because of the family, but we would have been more likely to know who did this. We have a lot of speculation in the media, a lot of stories about the author of the murder, are these, are they, but my personal opinion (I don't think)”, Bozovic said.
Ivanovic was killed 16 January in front of his headquarters in Mitrovica. So far there is no one arrested in connection with this murder.
