Recent data shows that nearly a quarter of the new users increased during 2017. Africa has seen the fastest growth rates, with the number of Internet users across the continent rising by more than 20 percent year-on-year.

Much of this year's growth has been prompted by the greater presence of smart phones and the most affordable price of mobile data (mobile date). More than 200 million people during 2017 are first equipped with wise telephones, and two thirds of the world's 7.6 billion now have such a device.

More than half of the equipment in use is wise, so it is increasingly easier for people to enjoy a rich online experience wherever they are.

Social media use continues to rise rapidly, and the number of people has increased by almost one million new users every day over the past 12 months. More than three billion people worldwide use social media every month, with 9 out of 10 users entering their platforms selected through mobile equipment.

According to the report, the number of Internet users in 2018 is 4,021 billion people, increasing by 7 percent year-on-year, the number of social media users in 2018 is 3.196 billion people, increasing 13 percent year-on-year, and the number of mobile phone users in 2018 is 5.135 billion, increasing by 4 percent year-on-year.

Of the results presented by the Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) in the Kosovo Information Technology and Communication Use Report, 2017, 88.8 percent of Kosovo families have access to the Internet.
