QKSS Executive Director Florian Qehaja said Kosovo does not have any clear Euro-Atlantic perspective in a February term.
The external policy “is positioned in domestic politics. Elections in another state have an impact on Kosovo because elections in that so-called state Kosovo has not yet received liberalisation. Foreign policy should not only deal with the elite aspect but generally”.
“The EU comments on NATO's military for the economy and has a disorder in this regard. In the short term, Kosovo has no clear Euro-Atlantic perspective. EU states that do not recognise Kosovo have been far against Kosovo's membership at Interpol”, he said.
Donika Amyni, a researcher in this organisation, said that this year except Kosovo has not received recognition, some states have drawn recognition.
This year was the most special edition because it was 10 years from declaring independence. Citizens already know who their partners are, how things are running with Serbia. When research was done in October, it was the stage for discussing the exchange of territories. This year, except that we have received recognition, many countries have drawn recognition. So far no one has talked about reports with Bosnia and every time Serbia uses it to block Kosovo”.
She said that according to the citizens' perception, Germany is Kosovo's friend country, meanwhile, Serbia is the country with the most hostile reports.
Serbia's “impact through the Serbian List, which was established in Belgrade to prevent Kosovo's internal processes. Serbia's influence in Kosovo is seen as very dangerous, especially through the Serbian List, and the very fact that they have met in Belgrade to make important decisions for Kosovo has given the perception that they can decide in the UN”.
“German is considered one of the best allies from European Union countries”, she said.
As for dialogue, Emini said citizens think it should be led by the nonpolitical elite.
Very few Kosovo citizens think Kosovo is winning in dialogue. The fact that there is no transparency in dialogue Serbian citizens think Kosovo is winning. Many citizens have thought that association in domestic operation would bring a Republika Serpska scenario to Bosnia. Citizens think we should have the nonpolitical elite to lead the dialog”.
Agon Maliqi of Sbunker said Kosovo is at a crossroads where not all decisions depend on locals. He added further that citizens have begun to be sceptical of the EU, reports EO.
Kosovo finds the year at some crossroads of orientation, one part is in our hands and the other is international. Kosovo remains Western pro but is changing its approach to the European Union. We're at the beginning of Euro-scepticism”.
“Do not resolve the problem with Serbia made deepening reports with Kosovo impossible for the EU. What's out of our hands is the fate of the EU. We are aware that there is crisis in the EU”.
