Statistics Agency: Kosovo unemployment rate up

The most pronounced unemployment is in women at 34.8%, compared to men, 29.5%. The most significant unemployment rate is among 15-24-year-old groups with 55.0%.
Within the working age population, participation rates in the workforce are 42 percent.
The employment rate at the Workers Power Survey (AFP), for the third quarter (TM3) 2018 was 29.1%.
The highest employment was among men (45.6%), while female employment was 12.6%. Women are employed, mainly in the education, trade and health care sectors, with 54.5 %s, while males are mainly employed in the trade, construction and production sectors, with 44.1%.
“According to the AFP results, at TM3 2018, the unemployment rate is 30.7%. Interactive power is high enough with 58.0 %, with special focus on women by 80.7 %, compared to men, 35.3%<18x1>, says the ASS communiqué.
While the economic sectors, which lead with employment, continue to be trade by 16.8%, construction by 12.3%, education by 11.5%, as well as production by 10.5%. Other sectors, however, participate at a lower rate in employment.
As for employees with contracts, 28.4% of employed persons have permanent contracts in their main work, while 71.6% have temporary contracts.
