Spain does not tolerate Shakira either

The Colombian star, 41, who has two children with Barcelona football player Gerard Pique, spends most of her time in Spain.

Spanish law says that people who spend more than 183 days of the year in Spain should pay the Spanish state their income tax, even when they earn it abroad.

Officials who were involved in the Shakira income investigation have charged that, the singer claims to live in the Bahamas precisely to avoid financial obligations to the Spanish state.

But Shakira insists she has not violated the rules, saying she has rigorously followed the instructions of her financial advisers.

Its lawyers, meanwhile, are dealing with the drafting of defence when Shakira appears soon in the courtroom.
