He in a confession to Kosovo Press shows that his interview has lasted a total of 18 hours and has been questioned about all his activity while he was in the NLA ranks.
He says he was questioned in the quality of the witness and that there was no invitation but was just contacted over the phone.
I've never had a written form like it should be. I had a phone call, they warned me on the phone and they told me that at nine o'clock we were gonna come get the office. That's what happened. I've been taken to the offices here for two days. Two days from nine till 6:00 I was interviewed in the witness's discretion at the initial phase of the investigation, so I was told... I was called two days earlier and I was contacted every day whether I'm ready, whether I'm there, or not, am I in Kosovo... the investigators of the Special Court with the EULEX”, Syla relates.
Syla has added that prior to the start of the interview, it has been warned that the quality of a witness depending on the decision the Court makes to him can also be brought to an indictment.
Saying he was only questioned about the war period, Syla did not rule out the possibility that all commanders could be interviewed, but also KLA soldiers.
The entire interrogation or interviewing process has taken place for me, all services, for all tasks, for all my activity and my commitment from the first day to the KLA until the transformation of the KLA to the KPC, everything from the beginning until September 20, 1999. Of course, during the movement during our engagements, during the service of the Kosovo Liberation Army, we have had meetings with colleagues, co-communicators, and a few names that can't be denied that I haven't been with them... all those who have been with me here have no difference from the simplest soldier to the highest commander everyone can be interviewed and all can be part of this investigative process, so that there have been names from soldiers, even by commanders”, he said.
Former Member of The KLA says that even in 2011 it was interviewed by prosecutor Salustro, in connection with the case “Klicka” where Fatmir Limaj was charged.
Safet Syla appeals that all those invited should appear and defend the pure war of the Kosovo Liberation Army.
“We cannot surrender to them I think we have to face, protect and defend the pure war of the Kosovo Liberation Army, let's find any court that the Liberation Army has killed at least one Serbian child I am willing to give “, says Syla.
He believes in the pure liberation war and says he has not seen fit to fear and not face Special Prosecutors.
All the wars we've fought were liberation wars, the war for protecting our population, for protecting our homes and our lands, and today this court that we're dealing with is assuming possible crimes done by just one party, by whom, by the Kosovo Liberation Army. I believe a lot in our justice, I believe in the pure war of the Kosovo Liberation Army, and I have not seen reason to fear to confront them, then we've had much harder in 98-99, now we have it much easier“, Syla said.
Otherwise, the Specialised Prosecutor's Chambers operating under the Special Court for War Crimes allegedly conducted by KLA members so far have been sent invitations to five KLA members.
The invitation has been sent to the former commander of Llap Operative Zone Rrustem Mustafa, the former commander of the Drenica area Sami Lushtaku, Nazif Mehmeti, as well as from the Lapi and Ramiz Shala area known as “Red Mola”, who has refused to respond to this invitation.
