Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister Rasim Lajic says Kosovo is not reacting to the European Union's appeals to pay 100 per cent for Serbian goods.
He estimates that US and EU action should follow when it comes to this problem.
“in principle this is not just a report between Belgrade and Pristina, but it is affecting the perception of the entire region and that the Balkans are again turning into a focus like the conflict area”, Lajjic has said.
According to him, this could affect the arrival of investors in this part of the region, because no one invests in a unstable region.
After the 100 per cent tax is imposed, the army's problem has been presented, and it is seen here that a larger problem is being created and the situation is radicalising”, he said.
He has said that from November 21st to December 11th in Kosovo goods have been introduced for 30m euros less than the same route last year.
“This is extremely serious damage and if this continues and is established on additional taxes, this practically means that trade with Kosovo will be entirely suspended”, Lajjic has said.
He has added that 6600 small and medium-sized enterprises from Serbia, which have sold goods in Kosovo, are now impossible, as 100 per cent are unlikely to be market competitors.
