George Herbert Walker was born on June 12, 1924, and passed away yesterday, November 30th 2018, at the age of 94. He was the 41st president of the United States and served in this position from 1989 to 1993. Before becoming president, he also served as US vice president from 1981 to 1989. Bush was a member of the Republican Party, while he had several other high state positions. He was Congressman, ambassador and director of the CIA.
During his public service career, he has been known as George Bush, but by 2001 his name has had to be added to his fatherhood's instincts to distinguish him from George W. Bush, who is his eldest son and who became the 43rd president of the United States. He served as US president for only one term after losing the race for the second mandate against former President Bill Clinton.
Bush became head of the Republican Party for the Harris region of Texas in 1963. In 1966 he joined the House of Representatives and served on two mandates. He then served as the United States ambassador to the United Nations organization in 1971, chairman of the Republican National Committee, and director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in 1976.
In 1980, he had failed to become his party's candidate for president after losing the race against former President Ronald Reagan. During this period, however, he was elected vice president of President Reagan and served in this position for two mandates, as far as President Reagan. Finally, he became president of the United States in 1989, after winning his 1988 election, where he had his Democrat Michael Dukkis for counterCandids.
During his presidency, he faced more successful external issues at a difficult time for his country. It dealt with the break-up of the former Soviet Union and intervened with troops to oust Panama dictator Manuel Noriega from power. However, its greatest international success is estimated to attack the former Iraqi president's army, Saddam Hussein, who in 1990 had invaded Kuwait, a country rich in oil reserves.
When his eldest son, George W. Bush, was elected president, he often made public presentations, most of the time to support his son. In 2005, he also came in favour of former President Clinton to help people who were hit by Hurricane Katrina. Fund “Bus-Clinton Katrina Fund” had managed to collect more than $100m in a few months. In 2011, Bush was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by former President Barack Obama.
In November 2012, when Bush was now 88 years old, he was forced to lie in the hospital. He was suspected of suffering from bronkitis, a lung - burning disease. Later, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in the lower body, which left him in the chariot. By 2015 he had collapsed and broken a neck ring. In 2017 he was returned to the hospital because of respiratory problems associated with pneumonia. He passed away at the age of 94, November 30, 2018, at 22nd and 10 minutes, writes “Biography”.
