Today I had a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General. Jens Stoltenberg.
I expressed my thanks to Kosovo's people and to the KFOR mission in Kosovo and NATO's contribution to a safe and secure environment for all Kosovo citizens. I also expressed respect and deep feelings for many NATO soldiers who have lost their lives during their service in Kosovo.
Expressing understanding of his position from the multilateral perspective of the transition process, I also informed Secretary General Stoltenberg that Kosovo is committed to a process of transition of KSF that will ensure a professional, multiethnic and creditary army in service of all Kosovo citizens.
This sovereign decision of Kosovo, which will be voted on 14 December, contains in itself the vision and will of Kosovo's citizens to preserve and protect Western values.
The KSF will contribute to peace and stability in the region and beyond. Kosovo institutions will make sure to continue close co-operation with KFOR and NALT, as we share the same security concerns, interests and values.
