The European Parliament rapporteur for Kosovo, Tanja Fajon, has criticised Serbia following attacks on those who think otherwise and critical of the government.
It for Radio Free Europe has said that “this is not Serbia I want to see in the European Union (EU)”. She has said she criticises Serbia because she wants to see it better.
I think not only of myself but also of many colleagues from European institutions who clearly convey these messages. There is a great difference between what Serbia has accomplished in terms of reforms on the road to the European Union in contrast to reality in that state”, she stressed.
Fajon has said Serbia should have more room for critical thoughts. “Porossia for Government is that it should create better conditions for respecting democracy and that's why people want to live free”, it went on.
The citizens should have the feeling that the government cares about them. My conviction by cocktails with people in Serbia is that there is no such thing. These are difficult and sensitive themes”, Fajon said.
