From Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's office despite demands by Federica Moghrin, the European Union's foreign policy chief to withdraw the tax decision, suggested the tax is lifted only when Kosovo accepts recognition from Serbia.
”Taxa is removed at the moment when we have recognition from Serbia and Kosovo has strong arguments why this tax has been imposed. The CEFTA agreement has not been respected, and all of this has been done in defence of the country's sovereignty and economy”, the Kosovo Government's response to Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj's leadership has been reported.
EU foreign policy chief Federica Moghrini has recently called on the Government of Kosovo to revote the 100 per cent tax on products originating from Serbia and Bosnia.
She has said it belongs to Kosovo and Serbia as to what the final agreement between them will look like, but according to her, the ethnic line limit will not be accepted.
