In an interview for “interactive” on KTV, Chambert said the way the army was approved has not been convincing NATO and its members.
“Lugs have already passed and France takes into account this decision by Parliament. Now is the time to move forward, and that means two things. The first, to begin implementing the 10-year transition plan, which has been approved by the KSF. The second is to have focus on relations with NATO. As you have seen in the Secretary General's recent statement, the way it was adopted has not been convincing about NATO and its structures of members”, the French ambassador has said.
“Now is the time for Kosovo and KSF to resume co-operation with NATO and hear what it has to say NATO. I believe it will be very important to confirm all agreements between KSF and KFOR” very soon, Chambert said.
Asked whether the KSF could go north of Kosovo, Chambert has said they should get permission from KFOR to operate in the north.
The “may go, but with the green light of KFOR. It is not that there is no right to go north, but you know that for the security of Kosovo, The KSF remains an important provider of security for the country, and what Kosovo can do is to be in co-ordination with those who are on the ground every day for the country's security”, Chambert has said.
