Police simply reported that it was a Western Balkan country, without specifying which, but witnesses said the wounded repeated in Slavic language the word: “Vollla! Brother! ” One person was killed and another was hospitalised in very serious condition, following the attack on a popular restaurant, just 200 meters from St. Stephen's Cathedral, in the city's historic centre.
The third person, who was in the restaurant with the victims during the attack, was questioned by police as an eyewitness. Suspect remains on the run. The downtown residents were swept into panic after being immediately assumed to be involved in terrorist attacks.
