Wessel from Brussels: Serbia, Bosnia products tax 100 percent

Chief Parliamentary Office of the cabinet, Kadri Wessel, has announced that Wessel from Brussels has demanded that taxes on products imported from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina be 100 percent, not as proposed by up to 30 percent. The 100 per cent tax ruling on Serbia has not come without [...]
The 100 per cent tax ruling on Serbia has not come without consultations and debates between Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselin and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
A few minutes without a decision in Government, the prime minister has consulted Chief Parliamentary Kadri Veselin as coalition leader on the phone, and at first the proposal has been to impose 20 percent or maximum 30 percent, Wessel's cabinet suggests.
Prime Minister Veselini has interrupted the meeting with the friendship group in Belgium for several minutes and has been heard communicating with Prime Minister Haradinaj about the decision the government was expected to make.
According to the chief prime minister's office, during chief parliament's telephone conversation with the prime minister, Wessel was sceptical of the prime minister's initial proposals for the tax to be imposed by 30 percent, RTK reports.
“These measures and 30 per cent taxes are not serious and damage Kosovo. Keep in mind that prices may rise for citizens. EU reactions should also be taken into account, but especially the US. Decisions need not be made just for populism. If we want to respond to Serbia's aggression, then it is better that the tax is imposed 100%, but when you decide there is no turning back”, Veselin Haradinaj has told in telephone conversation from Brussels, Wessel's cabinet reports.
This office revealed that after telephone conversation with Haradinaj, Wessel has immediately contacted the deputy prime minister from PDK ranks Enver Hoxhaj, who has instructed PDK ministers to vote on the 100 per cent tax decision.
